1225 First archival documents mention Damgarten.
1233 Ribnitz is described as a town for the first time.
1258 Damgarten is granted a charter by nearby Lübeck.
1323 Foundation of the Clarissa Nunnery in Ribnitz by the Duke of Mecklenburg Heinrich the Lion.
ca. 1390 Pirate Claus Störtebeker docks at Ribnitz (in the Permin Bay near Wustrow). Destruction of the maritime passage between the marshlands (Bodden) in the area and the Baltic Sea.
1599 Hand over of the des Ribnitz Nunnery to the Mecklenburg nobility.
1630 King Gustav Adolf of Sweden conquers Damgarten and Ribnitz.
1648 Damgarten is declared Swedish territory.
1678 Swedish troops led by General Königsmark storm Ribnitz. The Elector of Brandenburg destroys Damgarten.
