About 700 years ago, when numerous mighty steeples shaped the silhouettes of new cities around the Baltic Sea, nobody would have characterised the sea and its neighbouring coast area as recreative. The sea was good for transport, life along the shore was rough. After centuries, the same cities are still dominated by the same mighty steeples. However, it has never been more exciting yet more recreative to head for the Baltic Sea and circle it. To follow its coastlines and discover innumerable witnesses of a changeful history. In the narrow alleys and places of the medieval cities, in the shade of dignified cathedrals and city halls, in the ample landscapes along the shore, and while watching the storm-tossed sea, past becomes sensible and is experienced.The traveller is inspired by unique landscape sceneries, peacefully dozing villages, over and over again by the sea and endless coasts, cultural and gastronomical highlights, impressive old towns, pure recovery and recreation or sports activities, and over and anon monuments visible from afar and from times when spires made of red brick and peaking out 100 meters and more were sensations.
